CHARTS Patch 141: March 2023: Complete CHARTS Release

This patch includes:

1) required software updates due to the extension of the emergency Covid CMS waiver until April 2023, and

2) additional CHARTS Census, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll enhancements.

Covid Emergency Order Extended Once Again

The public health emergency surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic was set to expire on January 11, 2023. The Department of Health and Human Services has extended the emergency declaration for another 90 days. The extension is effective January 11, 2023 and extends the emergency into early April. The CHARTS software has been adjusted accordingly.

Adobe PDF Default for Reporting

A feature is available that will open all reports as Adobe pdfs instead of routing to a printer, without having to specify ‘A’ as the Print Option. This can either be set as a facility option or as a user based option. For any report where the Print Option selected is set to ‘S’ (spool to printer) or ‘H’ (hold) the report will process as if an ‘A’ (Adobe pdf) was selected as the print option. The only exception to this rule is for reports that print on an overlay/form (for example UB04s or W2s) where the standard print option still would apply and ‘S’ would direct the output of the default printer.

User Parameters – UP, 14 – Option # 133.

To set the Adobe pdf option on a facility basis set ‘Force PDF Open’ to ‘X’.

Change Table File – CTF, 18, 4 – System Security

To set the Adobe pdf option for a specific user only set the ‘PDF’ field to ‘X’.
