Guidelines Regarding our
Telephone Dialer and E-mail Messages
The following are some guidelines for our telephone dialer and our e-mail system that have been formulated over the years through trial and error. They are not carved in stone but please make an attempt to work with them.
Automated Telephone Dialer:
Many people view unsolicited telephone calls as a nuisance. We therefore use our shul telephone dialer very sparingly and only to deliver time-critical messages. If you would like your telephone number to be added or removed from our dialer system please send an e-mail message to HZelcer@ReliableHelath.com with your name, your telephone number and your request. Sorry that we cannot accept multiple telephone numbers for a single family. The dialer sends the messages sequentially and with the number of people that are currently dialed (approximately 55) the message already takes from one to two hours to deliver depending on the length of the announcement.
To initiate a time-critical telephone message call Heshey Zelcer at 718-338-6233 (home), or at 718-338-2400 (office).
Shul E-mail:
Disclaimer. The e-mail messages that we send, although they contain the name of our shul, do not necessarily reflect the policy of the rav or of our shul.
Purpose. The purpose of our e-mail system is to deliver non-time-critical messages to our shul members regarding: 1. Life-cycle events, 2. Initiatives which benefit our community, 3. Charitable events such as dinners, and 4. Any type of marketing which benefits your livelihood (parnasah). Messages which do not fall into the above categories will not be honored – it would take an inordinate amount of time.
All messages and announcements are sent out only when the person involved asks that we do so. Do not assume that your simcha will be announced unless you specifically ask us to do so. Requests to send out anonymous messages will not be honored. If you feel you have a worthwhile initiative be ready to put your name to it.
Messages can be scheduled in advance and you can specify the date and time the message should be sent. To initiate a message send an e-mail request to HZelcer@ReliableHealth.com or call me at 718-338-6233 (home), or at 718-338-2400 (office). E-mail is the best way to reach me and I check it even when I am away. When you send me an e-mail request please format it exactly as you would like it to read. If I need to edit your message there is a chance that I will word it in a manner that will not convey your exact intent.
Messages are currently sent to about 92 e-mail addresses and about 70% of the recipients read them. You may have as many e-mail addresses in our system as you wish. To add or remove an e-mail address please go to our web page www.NachlasDovid.org and follow the directions.
Problems receiving e-mails. A small percentage of mail servers send our shul e-mails to your junk mail folder or will block them entirely. There is nothing I can do to change that. However, if you tell your e-mail administrator to allow the following domains and/or IP addresses it may help:
Domains:
roving.com
confirmedcc.com
constantcontact.com
IP Addresses:
63.251.135.75
Best wishes and may we continue to share many smachot.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Heshey Zelcer
