Following in italics and bold is my (anonymous member) reaction to some items in the short Aguda response.
"........as much as we embrace the objective of demonstrating across-the-Jewish-board support for the people of Israel, we were unable to co-sponsor the event". Who said the Aguda needed to co-sponsor? Even if the Aguda felt in couldn't do so, why didn't it at the very least encourage and even urge its constituents to attend this important rally, especially when asked.
".........certainly did not in any way discourage any of the many Jews who contacted us from attending the rally" Discourage?????? We're talking about the Aguda's leadership responsibility in a time of crises!!! Discourage?? Feh!!
"Indeed, rabbis at a number of Agudath Israel-affiliated shuls affirmatively encouraged their congregants to participate, with some even organizing buses to the event." Yes, they did this despite--not because of -- the Aguda's lack of direction.
